Evidence-Based Therapies

When it comes to recovering from a substance abuse disorder or addiction, we believe in a comprehensive, whole-body approach. This means we include a wide range of therapies, treatments, and techniques in our drug and alcohol rehab program. These methods include private individual sessions, group therapy, holistic treatments and activities, and plenty of evidence-based therapies. We believe that engaging in all of these gives you the best chance at long-term success as you heal your mind, body, and spirit together. When you arrive, we’ll work with you to create a treatment plan that’s exactly right for you. To do this, we ensure our staff is trained in a variety of different evidence-based therapies.

Common Evidence-Based Psychological Therapies

Some methods are far more common and popular than others, but that doesn’t automatically mean they’ll work for everyone. This is why we offer a wide range of techniques so that everyone has a chance at meaningful healing and recovery.

CBT is one of the most widely used evidence-based psychological therapies for both addiction and mental health. This is especially useful since many suffering from addiction also struggle with co-occurring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

CBT focuses on identifying negative thought and behaviour patterns and how these may have contributed to developing an addiction. It then helps you learn how to better deal with these thoughts and eventually reframe your thinking into something more positive.

Solution-focused therapy helps you focus on the present and to stop living in the past. Addiction can come with plenty of guilt and regret – this is normal. However, you must start looking forward and focusing on how you can change things for now and in the future.

With this therapy, you’ll work on creating skills that help you problem-solve in a healthy way. With the help of your therapist, you’ll start the process of making positive changes in your life and create a new, happy outlook for the future.

Mindfulness therapy focuses on reducing your stress. Stress is a huge factor in treatment and recovery since it has both mental and physical implications. Too much stress can stunt and harm your progress, which is why we bring in mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy.

With this method, we look to encourage feelings of self-compassion and help you find some sense of purpose and meaning. This is shown to help improve your stress levels and lets you better manage stressful events like cravings and triggers.

ACT is a newer form of therapy, though it’s proven quite effective in treating a wide range of issues, including substance abuse disorders and addictions. It’s based on traditional cognitive and behavioural therapies, but it digs a little deeper. It uses techniques like visualization and mindfulness to help you accept your feelings, thoughts, and emotions rather than avoid them.

In doing this, you can learn to better manage pain, sadness, and any other hardship while maintaining a happy and positive outlook on life.

In addition to one-on-one therapy sessions, we also hold various group discussions. Group therapy has many years of evidence to back up its benefits and efficacy. Group therapy covers topics such as anger management, healthy boundaries, mental health, motivation, mindfulness, and much more.

By participating in these discussions, you’ll discover a sense of community and you’ll build a support network. Addiction can be incredibly isolating and simply feeling less alone can do wonders for your recovery. You may also learn some new things and hear new perspectives you’d never thought of before.

Lastly, many people gain confidence in their own treatment by hearing success stories from others. It’s easy to get discouraged and feel stuck when working toward recovery. A regular infusion of confidence will help you stay motivated and on track.

Evidence-Based Therapy

We decided to run a drug and alcohol rehab program because we know that people go through things differently. Their bodies react to drugs and alcohol differently, and they may even become addicted for unique and different reasons. We carefully select our staff – we want you to feel as safe and comfortable as possible while you navigate this tough and vulnerable time. Our counselors and therapists are highly trained and professional but are also compassionate and empathetic to your struggle. Many have lived experiences of their own and can relate to some of what you’re going through.

Our therapy methods are evidence-based but are also carried out in a way that’s suited for both genders. We welcome people of all ages and circumstances to find gentle and judgment-free healing at Lily Recovery. Our evidence-based therapies are complemented by a beautiful facility, a small group of people, healthy meals, and a variety of holistic treatments, activities, and practices. If you have any questions regarding any part of our rehab program, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll get back to you quickly with answers and guidance as you make a decision for yourself or a loved one.
